DRESS CODE
All students are expected to adhere to the dress code during school, on field trips, or at other school sponsored events. The school reserves the right to make all interpretations of inappropriate dress. Students are to come to school clean, neatly dressed, and well groomed. On “dress-down” days students are not to wear clothing that is disrespectful or promotes inappropriate behavior. Shirts should not be sleeveless or low cut, and it should be long enough to tuck in. Shorts should be close to knee length. Clothes should not have holes.
Standardized Dress for Boys and Girls K-12th Grade

Approved top garments include polo shirts, oxford shirts, turtlenecks, and peter-pan blouses. Colors include light blue, white, red or navy in color. All Shirts should be long enough to tuck in. The skin on the belly or back should not be showing. No labels are permitted.

Approved bottom garments include: pants, skirts, jumpers, shorts or skorts. Colors include khaki or navy. The skirts, jumpers, shorts and skorts should be close to knee length. Clothing more than two inches above the kneecap is not acceptable. No cargo style pockets are allowed. Pants, if worn, should be full length, loose fitting, and not the “hip-hugger” style.

Girls’ socks (including knee socks) are to be navy, khaki, red, black, or white. Tights are to be navy, white, red, or ivory.
Boys
Approved cardigans or sweater vests are white, red, or navy in color with no logos. No “hoodies” or jackets are allowed in class. The CCS sweatshirts are the only sweatshirts permitted during the school day. These can be purchased through the school office.
Shoes must be worn at all times. Shoes should be closed toed and closed heel. No flip-flops are permitted. Laces are to be worn and tied in shoes that are designed for such. Students should wear socks with athletic shoes. Belts are to be basic in design and must be black or brown. Ties may be worn in red or navy.
Types of jackets/coats worn are to be of good taste and judgment. No symbols, characters, etc., that are disrespectful or promote inappropriate behavior may be on coats/jackets, lunch boxes, backpacks, folders, books, etc.
All students should have clean, well-groomed hair. Boys’ hair should be neatly cut. The back length should be at or above the collar of a standard dress shirt and the side length should be off of the ears. No extreme hairstyles will be accepted for any student.
Boys will not wear earrings. Girls should wear jewelry in moderation and good taste. Body piercings, other than earrings, are not permitted. Girls' make-up should be worn in moderation. Tattoos of any kind are unacceptable. Hats, sunglasses, or other such accessories are not to be worn inside the school building.
